On October 24, 2024, the Oshkosh Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Unit, with support from the Oshkosh SWAT Team, led a significant operation resulting in $330,000 seized in a drug bust in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This operation, which targeted properties on the 1700 Block of Lombard Avenue and the 1000 Block of Mt. Vernon Street, uncovered a large sum of cash and narcotics following community reports and a detailed investigation.
During the first search on Lombard Avenue, conducted at 6:14 AM, officers found approximately 30 grams of cocaine, 50 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and over $3,000 in cash. A second search on Mt. Vernon Street uncovered about 7.5 pounds of marijuana, over 1,000 THC cartridges, one kilogram of cocaine, and an additional $330,000 seized in a drug bust. Investigators also seized three vehicles thought to be acquired with profits from drug sales and are looking into several bank accounts suspected to hold proceeds from drug distribution.
A 51-year-old Oshkosh resident was arrested and now faces several charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug dwelling, possession with intent to distribute over 40 grams of cocaine, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana in quantities of 2,500 to 10,000 grams. This case is being referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Wisconsin’s Eastern District for federal prosecution.
Chief Smith of the Oshkosh Police Department praised the Vice and Narcotics Unit’s efforts, stating, “If you are dealing drugs in our community, we will find you, and we will arrest you.” The department emphasized its dedication to combating drug activity within Oshkosh to protect the well-being of its residents. The police recognized the essential role of community reports in advancing the investigation and expressed gratitude for the public’s assistance.
