Washington – On the evening of November 4, officers from the Richland Police Department were dispatched to Kadlec Regional Medical Center after an 8-year-old child from Richland, Washington, was brought in showing symptoms of intoxication. This alarming incident involving THC-laced Halloween candy has raised significant concerns for local families and led to a public warning from the Richland Police Department.
Authorities reported that the child’s parents found out their son had consumed a 600 mg THC “Nerds Gummy Clusters” candy, marked “Medicated,” which he received during Halloween trick-or-treating. The child began eating the THC-laced Halloween candy around 6:00 PM on November 4, soon displaying unusual symptoms such as thirst and a pale appearance. Recognizing the candy wrapper and realizing it contained THC, the parents acted quickly, bringing their child to the hospital for immediate care.
The Richland Police Department confirmed that the candy was obtained from outside the family’s home and has launched an investigation to identify its source. The department has released a list of specific neighborhoods where the child went trick-or-treating, urging parents in these areas to thoroughly inspect any Halloween candy their children received for safety.
