On January 26, 2025, at approximately 6:00pm, a Police Sergeant from Hopkinton Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. The operator of the vehicle, Julien Santiago, 22 years old of North Providence was found to have an active arrest warrant out of West Warwick. After he was taken into custody an open backpack was discovered which contained a loaded .45 caliber Glock pistol. A front seat passenger, Javier Campuzano, 20 years old of Providence was ordered out of the vehicle. Upon exiting the vehicle, Campuzano dropped a loaded .9mm, 3D printed pistol onto the ground , and was subsequently taken into custody. During the course of the motor vehicle stop a loaded .223 caliber rifle was located in the vehicle along with marijuana, scales, packaging equipment, and approximately $1,600 in cash.
As a result of the motor vehicle stop Julien Santiago was charged with;
1. Possession of a firearm while delivering a controlled substance
2. Carrying a pistol or revolver without a license
3. Two counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons prohibited
4. Loaded weapon in a vehicle
5. Two counts of large capacity feeding devices prohibited
6. Possession with intent to deliver marijuana
7. Conspiracy
As a result of the motor vehicle stop Javier Campuzano was charged with;
1. Possession of a firearm while delivering a controlled substance
2. Carrying a pistol or revolver without a license
3. Possession with intent to deliver marijuana
4. Possession of a ghost gun
5. Conspiracy
