Mississippi – On October 1, 2024, the Ridgeland Police Street Crimes Unit and Narcotics Detectives, supported by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, executed a search warrant at a residence in Planters Grove, Ridgeland, Mississippi. This drug arrest in Ridgeland led to the confiscation of narcotics, firearms, and the discovery of a young child in a dangerous situation.
During the search, authorities seized approximately 9.7 pounds of marijuana, 32 ounces of THC wax, and 2.7 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms. Two handguns and two AR-style pistols were also found in the home. Disturbingly, an 11-month-old child was found asleep in the bedroom, within close proximity to both the unsecured guns and drugs. Child Protective Services were contacted, and the child was placed into the custody of a family member for safety.
As a result of the drug arrest in Ridgeland, 26-year-old Justyn Wilson of Ridgeland was arrested. He faces multiple charges, including trafficking a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, and child endangerment. The incident has heightened concerns about the risks to children and public safety from illegal drug activity.
This narcotics bust is part of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to protect the community from the dangers of illegal substances and firearms. Authorities continue to work closely with state and federal agencies to address the growing issue of narcotics distribution.
