California – Narcotics detectives from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested four individuals and seized a significant quantity of drugs, firearms, and cash from a property located just south of a high school in Fresno, shutting down an illegal drug operation.
This operation began after the office received a tip from Valley Crime Stoppers, alleging illegal drug sales were taking place in an open, public setting. Detectives from the Special Investigations Task Force (SITF), Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC), Property Crimes Unit, High Impact Investigation Team (HIIT), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) coordinated efforts to investigate the situation.
On Thursday, October 10th, detectives executed a search warrant at a property in the 3800 block of N. Grantland Avenue. Upon arrival, they found approximately 100 people at a shop behind a residence. While most individuals fled the scene, around 30 people were detained for questioning.
Detectives discovered that vendors regularly gathered at this location, often several times a week, to illegally sell narcotics. These events, commonly referred to as “Sunday Funday,” have reportedly been occurring since the start of the year. The presence of this illegal drug operation so close to the high school raises concerns that students may have been aware of or even involved in drug purchases.
As a result of the investigation, four adult men were arrested. Authorities also recovered four handguns and seized a substantial amount of narcotics, including:
- 400 lbs. of processed marijuana
- 120 lbs. of THC edibles
- 60 lbs. of concentrated cannabis
- 11 lbs. of THC vape products
- 112 oz. of Promethazine syrup
- 7 lbs. of Psilocybin mushrooms
- Smaller quantities of cocaine, LSD, MDMA, ketamine, DMT, and Xanax (Alprazolam) pills
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to dismantle this illegal drug network and ensure the safety of the community.
