The founder of Cookies has indicated that the brand is in the process of identifying a new location in Los Angeles.
The esteemed Californian cannabis company Cookies recently secured a partnership enabling their pre-rolled joints and vaporizer cartridges to be stocked by one of the rare legal marijuana shops in New York City. This development comes shortly after the brand made the difficult decision to cease operations at a prominent Los Angeles storefront.
The Cookies Melrose shop, nestled at the intersection of the renowned West Hollywood and Beverly Hills districts, will wind down operations this Tuesday, as shared by the brand’s originator, Berner, via Instagram the preceding week.
“It’s with a heavy heart I share this news – it’s been a challenge that we’ve approached with great tenacity, yet we couldn’t reach a mutual agreement with the property owner,” Berner expressed on social media.
Despite this setback, Berner reassured fans by confirming that Cookies is in the hunt for a new venue in the area, vowing to reestablish the Cookies presence in Hollywood with a new, equally memorable location.
Nevertheless, Cookies continues to be a powerhouse in the Californian retail scene, boasting upwards of 20 other outlets within the state alone. Moreover, the brand maintains a considerable footprint nationally and internationally, as detailed on their official site. A representative for Cookies revealed that the company operates 67 stores globally, with plans to expand further in California, Florida, Illinois, and Maine.
On the heels of this update, Cookies declared its venture into the New York market on Monday, following the completion of a distribution arrangement with Manhattan’s Union Square Travel Agency. This expansion was made feasible through strategic alliances with the local distributor Highline Brands and the production ally Final Bell, as noted in a recent statement.
“Introducing Cookies into New York has been a longstanding ambition of mine. The city holds a special place in my heart, and we’ve been relentless in our efforts to deliver our products to the fans in the Big Apple,” Berner remarked in the statement.
The brand anticipates the introduction of Cookies branded cannabis flowers in New York come 2024, which will succeed the initial offering of its pre-rolls and vape products.
