If you’re not a frequent user of Reddit, you may not be familiar with the concept of Dead Bedroom. There are numerous discussion boards that focus on situations where long-term partners experience a decline in their sexual activities, classifying it as a dead bedroom. These platforms explore potential solutions, offer advice, and act as a platform for individuals to voice their exasperation. Nevertheless, many are genuinely seeking ways to rectify the dead bedroom issue.
This is where cannabis comes into play.
The experts in CBD and Hemp at Nature & Bloom found that the Google search trend for ‘dead bedroom’ surged by 170% in the past quarter, suggesting that numerous American couples are experiencing frustration due to a sudden decrease in sexual intimacy. They propose that cannabis could be a viable remedy for a dead bedroom.
Reducing Stress
Holly Robinson, a professional Intimacy Specialist, suggests that THC (the primary psychoactive constituent of cannabis) can be extremely helpful in reviving sexual relationships that have declined due to workplace stress, particularly for women. She warns, “A satisfactory and intimate sex life cannot be achieved if daily life is riddled with stress, the pursuit of goals, and anxiety.”
“THC has shown significant influence in helping individuals let go of stress and reduce anxiety, as it fosters relaxation. This is crucial for women in male-dominated fields who often suppress their feminine side to adjust to their surroundings, which often leads to a disconnection from their own bodies.”
“This results in difficulties in experiencing physical pleasure, leading many women to resign to the belief that they’ll never reach climax during sexual encounters. Both THC and CBD can alleviate these obstructive thoughts by focusing on the pleasant sensations in the present moment, rather than the pressure of pursuing an unattainable climax.”
Setting the Mood
If stress isn’t the obstacle, it could be a matter of setting the right mood.
She states, “If ego and insecurities are causing issues in your sex life, using cannabis could lead to more intimate, open, and enjoyable sex, as it can help in pushing away intrusive thoughts.”
“However, it’s crucial to use cannabis conscientiously and responsibly. It should not be relied upon as a prop, as any benefit obtained through its use can also be achieved through personal growth and internal work. It’s not a magic solution, but it can help initiate the revival of a dormant sex life.”
While it can be an excellent solution, not all states have fully legalized cannabis. Nonetheless, Holly asserts that CBD can be just as effective in alleviating stress.
Bat Sheva Marcus, a Sex Therapist, is convinced that cannabis effectively battles a dead bedroom by enhancing women’s long-term sexual desire, as she observes, “A significant number of women have reported feeling more aroused with the use of THC, as well as achieving more intense orgasms and generally feeling more alluring on a daily basis.”
“This naturally amplifies their experience, making them more willing to engage in sexual activity. While this isn’t the case for every woman – as everyone is different – it may aid in combating a decline in libido that could otherwise have a long-term effect on intimacy.”

Nature & Bloom conducted an analysis of the states with the most search queries related to low libido – including ‘revive sex life’, ‘aphrodisiac’, and ‘dead bedroom’.
The analysis revealed that California showed the highest concern about decreased sexual activity, with the highest number of searches per 100k people, while Montana was the least concerned.

Commenting on the findings, a representative from Nature & Bloom said, “The usage of cannabis-infused products like THC lubricant to amplify sexual pleasure has seen a rise in recent years, as couples aim to enhance their sex life, increase libido and maintain sexual function.”
“However, many may be unaware that it can help tackle a dry spell by prioritizing mutual sexual satisfaction in your relationship – and can also rejuvenate monotonous sex for novices, as you’re introducing a fresh element into the bedroom.”
