CA — On Friday, April 4th, 2025, at about 9:00 AM, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Probation Department, served a search warrant in the 200 block of High School Street in San Andreas, CA, for an illegal indoor marijuana cultivation site.
The operation resulted in the eradication and seizure of over 5,000 marijuana plants and 460 pounds of processed marijuana from the residential home and detached structure. The estimated street value of the seized illegal marijuana is between 1.3 million and 2.1 million dollars. In addition to the unlawful marijuana, deputies discovered and seized illegal steroids and high-capacity magazines. Investigators are also working with the Calaveras County Code enforcement due to unsafe wiring identified inside the cultivation site, a common fire hazard in illegal grow operations.

No suspects were present at the time of the warrant, but the investigation is ongoing. Narcotic investigators are reviewing potential criminal violations as to the proximity to the high school. Out of an abundance of caution, the operation was strategically scheduled during spring break. A deputy was also assigned to the school campus as an added security measure.
