The year 2024 marks a significant milestone for Fresno’s cannabis industry, with the latest addition being the opening of its newest dispensary this Wednesday.
Located at 4795 N. Blackstone Ave., near Shaw Avenue, Higher Level celebrated its launch at midday, becoming the city’s seventh venue for recreational cannabis use.
Salvatore Palma, the CEO of the Seaside-based Higher Level of Care, mentioned that the opening day was initially limited to family and friends before welcoming the general public.
The dispensary will host a soft opening on Thursday, followed by a grand opening celebration on February 16th.
Operating hours are set from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This new dispensary occupies the space formerly held by Imagen Graphics, which now serves as Higher Level’s sign maker, and boasts 3,000 square feet of retail area.
Renovations began in June and concluded with the acquisition of an occupancy certificate in mid-January.
Currently, the dispensary provides employment to 42 individuals.
Higher Level of Care also operates other locations in Seaside, Hollister, and Greenfield, aside from its new Fresno outlet.
Fresno native Marley Forsythe is one of the principal local investors in the Fresno branch, as per the commercial cannabis business permit filed by Higher Level.
The business plan for Higher Level outlines an investment of $1.34 million in the Fresno outlet, with the backing group possessing close to $8 million in capital for this venture.
