This fall, Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey will proudly launch the first undergraduate program in New Jersey dedicated to cannabis studies. The new Bachelor of Science degree in Hemp and Cannabis Business Management, offered through the university’s renowned School of Business, aims to prepare students for successful careers in the burgeoning field of cannabis business. This pioneering program covers a comprehensive curriculum including cannabis cultivation techniques, medical cannabis advancements, and the significant relationship between cannabis and social justice.
The development of this degree is part of Stockton University’s ongoing commitment to lead in cannabis education, building on the foundation of the Cannabis Studies minor introduced back in 2018. This minor has successfully graduated over 70 students who have ventured into the cannabis industry or furthered their academic studies in related fields. In 2021, Stockton expanded its cannabis education initiatives by establishing the Cannabis & Hemp Research Institute, which serves as a hub for education, research, and resources dedicated to the cannabis and hemp sectors at both state and national levels.
