SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Eaze Drivers Join Forces with Teamsters Local 150
In a unanimous decision, delivery personnel at Eaze, a prominent cannabis delivery service operating across multiple states, have officially become members of Teamsters Local 150.
“A heartfelt congratulations to the dedicated team at Eaze for uniting in their efforts throughout this campaign to secure the rights and benefits they rightfully deserve,” expressed Dale Wentz, the Secretary-Treasurer of Local 150. “As part of the Teamsters Union, we are committed to ensuring our newest members achieve a collective bargaining agreement that squarely addresses their key concerns — including safety measures, better mileage compensation, enhanced benefits, and a stronger voice within their workplace.”
“By joining forces with the Teamsters, Eaze cannabis workers are now part of an expansive network of delivery drivers across various sectors, all represented by the Teamsters,” stated Peter Finn, Teamsters Western Region International Vice President and Director of the Teamsters Food Processing Division. “With unparalleled expertise in the logistics sector, our union is exceptionally equipped to negotiate the most favorable contracts for our members.”
Marking a historic moment, Eaze drivers in Sacramento have become the inaugural group of cannabis laborers in the Central Valley to organize with the Teamsters, following in the footsteps of their peers at Nabis and Amuse in California.
“We are pioneering a movement within the industry at a crucial time when companies across the board ought to recognize and value their employees,” mentioned Justin Arnerine, one of Eaze’s drivers. “Gone are the days when cannabis businesses barely scraped by. Nowadays, as soon as these companies commence operations, they’re generating significant revenue, leaving no room for excuses in fairly compensating and treating their employees.”
“Having a say in the functioning of my job is something I’m really looking forward to. It feels like we’ve finally gained representation,” shared Everett Jenkins, another Eaze driver and recent addition to the Teamsters. “For cannabis workers elsewhere contemplating organization, seize this chance to ensure you’re not viewed merely as a statistic. This is your moment to influence your compensation, job role, and your place within the company.”
