In a recent operation, the Red Bluff Police Department reported significant findings including narcotics, firearms, and resulted in multiple apprehensions.
Initiated on January 24, law enforcement embarked on an investigation following a report of an armed heist near Aloha Street and Deborah Drive, details of which were shared in a department press release last Friday.
An 18-year-old from Anderson reported being assaulted and robbed while attempting to sell marijuana in Red Bluff, arranged via a social networking platform. He recounted how the assailants boarded his vehicle, brandished guns at him, assaulted him, and made off with the narcotics and his wallet.
The inquiry led to the identification of a suspect, a 17-year-old local male. Authorities secured an arrest warrant for charges including robbery and firearm assault, alongside a search warrant for his residence.
A combined task force comprising the Red Bluff Police, Tehama County Bureau of Investigations, and Tehama County Sheriff’s Office executed these warrants at a premise on Walnut Street.
Upon their arrival, they encountered the suspect’s mother, Hilary Kennon, 37, from Oroville who was actively smoking methamphetamine upon contact.
Found to be consuming methamphetamine at the time, Kennon resisted arrest but was ultimately detained, facing charges of resisting arrest and meth possession.
The juvenile was also apprehended but remains unnamed due to his age. He faces charges for the robbery and the assault and was taken to Tehama County Juvenile Hall.
A thorough search of their home unveiled a cache of meth paraphernalia, meth bags, a flare gun modified to fire .22 caliber bullets, and an unregistered 12-gauge shotgun.
Upon her intake at Tehama County Correctional Facility, Kennon was discovered attempting to ingest a bag of fentanyl concealed in her clothing. Authorities are now also pressing charges for smuggling narcotics into a jail.
